A response from one of my customers:

Stephanie,

Thanks for getting back with me so quickly. I am beginning to realize why Tony Horton pushes people to join the BeachBody community, it is obvious you care and love what you do.  As far as deciding on specific goals, I'm not really sure how to approach it since I am not sure what type of numbers are reasonable.  This is the first time I have truly been on a real workout regimen and am still learning the ins and outs.  As I said before I have managed to lose 60 pounds in the last year with the tail end of it being due to my recent involvement in P90X.  Right now I am in Phase 2 (week 7) and still finding it quite enjoyable.  I think one of the biggest helps is repeating exercises over time so I can really notice the change in my body, like going from push-ups on my knees to my feet...and so forth.  My diet seems to remain fairly good, especially when I am at home.  I have gotten rid of a lot of my bad habits by not allowing myself to keep junk food in the house.  I have changed over to all whole grains, have given up pop, and have stopped having sugary desserts.  The main problem seems to come when I go out with friends.  Even though I know what's good for me, I crave the bad things and cave.  So I am really trying to fight that pitfall, especially since the school year is about to start again and my friends will be returning wanting to hang out all the time.  As far as the motivation is concerned I did one thing that really helped and that was going through my closet, trying on clothes, and getting rid of the items that were too baggy.  I am trying to tell myself that I'll never go back there again.  Plus, clothes shopping has been fun.

I really want to thank you for giving me your time.  It really does mean a lot to me to know that there is someone out there who I can share all of my weight loss joys and frustrations with, without feeling judged.

Sincerely,

Britain

...I feel so warm inside! And this, my friends, is why I do what I do =))

We Could All Use a Little Self-Improvement

Self-help books.  They are not just for people who cannot function in this world, they are for everyone big and small.  You may be successful in life, but I guarantee you there will always be things you can improve in order to grow as an individual.

Here is a list of some great books that my team and I highly recommend:
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People*
The Power of Positive Thinking
The Slight Edge*
Failing Forward*
Personality Plus*
Eat That Frog*

Three Feet from Gold
Think and Grow Rich
The Body Fat Solution
The Primal Blueprint

Note: Those with stars are my personal favorites.

Some of you may not be strong readers, but it is better to start reading now than later.  I am a pretty slow reader myself, but I persevere and try to read a little bit everyday.  It is my daily goal to read 10 pages a day.  It may not seem like a lot, but before you know it, you will have finished a whole book.  And by the end of the year, you will have read up to 6 books (if not more)!
